The Disturbing History Saga – Inspired by actual events
The insidious seduction of a college bound girl by a hell-bent abuser . . .
At fifteen, Mary Lou Poche is known in her small town of Houma, Louisiana for her profound beauty and intelligence. She and her best friend Gayle Gautreau believe their futures are as bright as the Southern sun. On September 6th, 1958, Mary and Gayle strike out on their first adventure to the fall festival—alone—where they meet a mysterious psychic who sends Mary reeling from the revelation of events that will affect her for years to come. In the reading, the psychic speaks of secret keys that will unlock Mary’s safety and of a difficult choice between two men. The Creole psychic woman says, “Choose de right one an’ you will know peace and success . . . choose de wrong one an’ you will suffer in bondage many a year.” Is the reading purely whimsical entertainment . . . or a frightening glimpse of things to come?

Excellent – Get the Next Part to the Presses Please!
Definitely a page turner and now I can’t wait for the next book!!!! I fell in love with girls immediately – Mary so “in control” and clear with what she believed her future would be and then, Gayle – more relaxed and so interested in everything about cars – so funny! It almost seems like an unlikely matched friendship. The events that begin as a result of Gayle persuading Mary to go to the fair begins the tale of a complicated, exciting, confusing time of adventure and discovery in these girls lives as they go in two different directions. Kami’s ability to capture and describe the feelings, emotions, inner thoughts, scents, sights, landscapes, etc. with such beautiful detail and ease pulls you right in and you are right there with them as they navigate these adventures and the all to familiar trial and tribulations. Mary’s father is so admirable – his words are few but always, wise and to the point. The mystery surrounding the other casts of characters – Vinny, Chick, Camille, etc. leaves you wondering and wanting to get the whole story. Get the next book to the presses!!!!! Short order please!

Incredible!
Hard to put down! Once you start you can’t stop. My favorite books are those that mention real places in Louisiana and this is #1 on my list! As I was reading I could actually see this playing in my mind. Would be an incredible movie. You would never believe this is Kami Boley’s first novel. Anxiously awaiting part 2!

Highly recommended
In her debut novel The Gator Leaves Nothing Behind, Kami Boley has done a masterful job creating the milieu of small town life in south Louisiana in the late 1950s. The characters are well drawn and she draws the reader in to the family life of the main character, Mary. The atmosphere she has created is so rich with local and historical detail, and you can practically feel the humidity that is the norm in that part of the country. I look forward to the next part of this novel.

Great story by new author
Wow! Great story. I really enjoyed the trip through south Louisiana. I felt like I was there along side the characters. A very enjoyable read. I’m ready to read more from this author.

Captivating
I would recommend The Gator Leaves Nothing Behind to anyone intrigued by Louisiana’s mysterious and troubled past but also for those looking for a compelling romance that begins as most do, innocent and enticing. Mary, clouded in her judgement, fails to see how this daring, romantic man could potentially be her downfall.

Well written book that left me wanting more..
This is an incredible read. It has everything a good book is supposed to have, suspense, romance, emotional turns of fate and a stirring feeling that not everything is as it appears. Enjoyed the well written approach to a murky past.. we all might find more common than we are prepared for.

A Fabulous Book!
WOW! This is an amazing book that unfolds cinematically…made for the movies! The characters are so well-developed, and the reader is transported to Louisiana in the late 1950’s. This is the best suspense-mystery I’ve read in years…my only disappointment was coming to Part I’s end. I cannot WAIT for Part 2. Congratulations to Ms. Boley, whose talent is undeniable.

Great book! You will start reading this book and not be able to put it down until you finish—then you realize it’s only Part I! Easy to read with accurate historical references. As a native of Louisiana, I loved all the Southern infleuences. When can I order Part II?

Truly attention-grabbing!
“The Gator Leaves Nothing Behind” is a truly unique and brilliantly written novel that captures your attention from the very beginning! Written well with eloquent vocabulary and considerable imagery that any book worm could appreciate! I consider myself to be a tough critic when it comes to books, considering, it is all too easy for me to lose interest. However, I can say with complete honesty that this is one of the rare cases, that a book sparked my curiosity entirely! The book provides informative, relevant information about the history of Louisiana! The story provides the perfect balance of curiosity, humor, suspense and characters that were brilliantly created! Anyone who does not have the pleasure of reading this book, is truly missing out!

Awesome Book…Hard to Put Down!!
When will part 2 be published? This one is a page turner. I am not a big reader, but every now and then I will come across a book I know I want to read. This was one of them. The author totally draws you into the lives of the characters and leaves you wanting more. Having been raised in New Orleans, the references to the French Quarter really brought back memories for me. I anxiously await part 2.

Great read!
Being transported to southern Louisiana and the 50’s in an accurate portrayal of place and time was an added bonus to a great mystery. Can’t wait to see what dangers are ahead for these naive young women as they continue their journey.

Accomplished work for a debut author
I enjoyed this book. It was very well written. I love books that include real world places and details. She nailed the Cajun slang, Louisiana landscape, and 1950’s experience. The girls are very endearing and tangible as people. You are transported into their world. My only issue is that I need to know what happens next! Please finish Part 2, ASAP ? This is an accomplished work for a debut author.

I don’t think I have ever read a book that captured me as quick as this one has. From the first page to the last I was hanging on to every word, and now that I have finished part 1, I am itching to read part 2!

Unbeatable, heart-stopping opening
This book starts with an unbeatable, heart-stopping episode that energizes the rest of the book. You won’t be able to put it down. My only disappointment was that the opening scene isn’t resolved in Book 1 — you have to wait until Book 2. Nevertheless, the author does a fantastic job painting Louisiana culture and characters in the late fifties, where she portrays a talented but naive teenaged girl’s courtship with a Mafia hitman. The readership knows the truth about the man, but she doesn’t, which raises the tension.
