Nightmare fuel. As someone who is still apprehensive about incorporating technology into my daily life, this story unlocks new and alarming future eventualities to be feared and considered. Artificial intelligence holds many frightening unknowns . . . and this narrative reveals a sinister possibility with a punch. Each year I see more and more automation added, an age when cars and self-cleaning vacuums are given names, humanizing our machines. My husband always reminds me that programming can only be as good as the one who writes the code, the creator. Perhaps we are becoming far too comfortable inviting these seemingly harmless helpers into our homes. This is a short read with a good twist. I recommend this novel to those who enjoy a blend of Science Fiction and Horror.
I’d like to thank NetGalley for an advanced copy of William for my unbiased evaluation. 3.5 stars.
