A contemplation of loss and learning.
Who doesn’t question their choices in life at some point? And some days where we can feel conflicted about the next steps to take . . . wonder what direction those might take us. Are we running away from something or simply walking towards a better future for ourselves?
This book felt like a little like a meditation on life choices. Watching these interesting characters marinate in each of their current situations . . . how they got there and wondering what’s next. It might be morbid to say we all end up with the same eventuality, but for now . . . we still have the day.
I highly recommend this novel to anyone who is already a fan of this author or of other authors like John Irving or Elizabeth Strout.
I’d like to thank NetGalley for an advanced copy of Day for my unbiased evaluation. 4 stars
